Several weeks ago I was organizing my boxes (yes boxes) of books. I had so many books, lots of copies, because I'd forget what books I had already picked up for a quarter.
My sons were helping me sort piles, "keep", "give away". I am sure some books from the "keep" pile ended up in "give away".
I had been reading Steinbeck's "Grapes of wrath" at nap time and had foolishly put it on their dresser when they'd fallen asleep.
I piled the "give away" pile on their dresser. Not remembering my library book.
I ended up donating, or I thought I did, a library book. A $33 mistake!
Yesterday while looking for a rogue sandal I found that blasted book under my bed. Shoved wayyyyyy in the back.
Now my question is...can I still return the book and get back my $33?

Free Magazines and King Tut
Free Magazines and King Tut
My sons were given old editions of National Geographic magazines this past weekend. Although they don't know how to read, yet, they were so excited to look at them. My eldest has been interested with the magazine edition about King Tut.
This morning as I was picking up the living room he asked me,
"Mama when can we go to the valley of the Kings? I'd really like to go."
I love how he has no concept of time or space, to him the valley of kings can be right down the block. His world is completely open and I love that about children the delight that comes from reading.
